Kenneth Bergenblad was born in Sweden in 1944. As father was a sculptor and artist, Bergenblad was surrounded by art and design from a young age. In 1965, he completed an apprenticeship in cabinet making before going on to study at the Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen. After graduating, Bergenblad worked as a designer at DUX, where he created the Spider chaise longue and lounge chair.
Kenneth Bergenblad is renowned for his timeless and experimental designs that expertly blend functionality with sculptural forms. The balance of different shapes, colours, and materials results in innovative pieces that honour traditional Scandinavian craftsmanship. Throughout his career, Bergenblad has been awarded numerous accolades, including the Guldlampen Nordisk Design prize for Wing. Today, he continues to design furniture and lighting from his farmhouse in Sweden.
