Joel Hoff

Joel Hoff is a London trained product designer who graduated from the Royal College of Art in 2014 with an MA in Design Products. His work sits in that practical space between concept and manufacture, with a clear interest in how everyday objects are made and used.

A consistent aim in Hoff’s approach is to create products suited to mass production without encouraging mass consumption. Instead, he focuses on designing fewer, better objects that feel worth keeping, prioritising quality, repairability where possible, and a form that does not date quickly.

By working with the realities of manufacturing, its strengths, limits, and efficiencies, he designs with longevity in mind, both in materials and in the way an object holds its shape and purpose over time. For HAY, Joel Hoff designed the Turn On Lamp.
