Ini Archibong

Ini Archibong was born in 1983 in Pasadena, California. After briefly attending the University of California’s business school, he enrolled at ArtCenter College of Design, where he was named Student Designer of the Year in 2010. He graduated in from the environmental design program in 2012 before completing a master’s degree in luxury design and craftsmanship at École cantonal d’art Lausanne.

In 2010 Ini Archibong founded Design by INI, an independent design studio that is characterised by Archibong’s dedication to craftsmanship and integrity of his chosen materials. Since establishing his studio, Archibong’s work has been exhibited around the world, including at the Victoria and Albert Museum, London, the Galerie Triode, Paris, and the Museo Bagatti Valsecchi, Milan. He has collaborated with notable international brands, including KDLN, where he created the Japanese vase-inspired Hive Table Lamp. Today, he lives and works in Basel, Switzerland.
