Ichiro Iwasaki

Ichiro Iwasaki is a Japanese designer, born in Tokyo in 1965. He started his career at Sony Design Centre, where he worked until 1991, before moving to Italy to work for a range of design studios in Milan. In 1995 Iwasaki returned to Japan and founded his own studio, IWASAKI DESIGN STUDIO, his work covers a range of fields including lighting, household goods, furniture and electronic devices and aims to improve intimate spaces.

Iwasaki has won numerous awards over the years including the Japan's Good Design Award Gold, iF Design Award Gold, Red Dot Best of the Best and the German Design Award Silver. On top of his design work, Ichiro Iwasaki is also a part-time lecturer at Tokyo University of the Arts and Tama Art University. Iwasaki is also a committee member on the board of the Good Design Awards.
