Formfjord

Formfjord are a Berlin-based design studio, specialising in functional product design. The studio was founded in 2006 by Fabian Baumann and Sonke Hoof and they work within the lighting, furniture, accessories and industrial design fields.

Fabian Baumann studied Mechanical Engineering at TU-Berlin and then Industrial Design Engineering at TU-Delft. Sonke Hoof studied Product Design at Kunsthochschule Berlin and at Ecole de Design Nantes.

Formfjord focus on straight lines and elaborate concepts, with their aim being to create meaningful and sensible products. They bring together a deep technical understanding, solid engineering skills, and 15+ years of experience with a passionate and infinite thirst to build better products. They want their products to help build a more enjoyable, more sustainable, and more convenient future.
