Eric Sole

Eric Sole is a French designer, born in Paris in 1960, who focuses on technical research and materiality in his work. His designs showcase the characteristics of the materials and their natural beauty. His passion for lighting design came when he discovered the unlimited possibilities that lighting design allows for. Sole was able to experiment with different raw materials that highlight their own natural qualities as well as work well alongside light.

This is a key feature of the Mesmeri wall light by Artemide that was designed by Eric Sole in the early 2000s. This design earned Eric Sole the iF Product Design and Red Dot Design Awards in 2006 and the Good Design Award in 2007. The creation and design of this collection are based on Eric Sole's beliefs that a lighting solution should become part of your environment and blend in effortlessly. This can be seen within the Mesmeri collection and the Cabildo collection, both of which demonstrate the beauty of the continuous piece of aluminium.
