Anne Qvist is an interior and product designer who takes an industrial approach to her work. Each design by Anne Qvist focuses on usability over aesthetics and highlights her love for true craftsmanship. Qvist studied at the Aarhus School of Architecture, where she graduated in 1992. In 2012, she founded her studio, Anne Qvist Dwesign Office, where her design extends from smaller-scale projects, such as lighting, to medium-scale projects, including furniture, and large-scale assignments, including extensive interior design. Each time with a focus on the user, the context and the space.
Qvist views design as a way of life, categorising it within a larger context where it takes on new meaning and can enact change. This assists in her designing functional and resilient pieces that will stand the test of time. These values have been ingrained in her work style from operating as a designer and design manager at both Schmidt Hammer Lassen Architects and Arkitema Architects.
"Modest design does not shout loudly with its good style, but instead speaks softly and precisely. Modest design becomes important and makes sense for many. Not just for the few." - Anne Qvist
