Alexksej Iskos is a Ukranian designer, born in 1965 in Kharkov. He studied architecture at Kharkov’s Institute of Civil Engineering and later theory of education at the State Institute of Pedagogic and moved to Denmark in 1991. Iskos also graduated from the Institute of Industrial Design at Denmark’s Designskole and the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Design. From 1999 to 2010 he was employed at Komplot Design, Copenhagen.

Since 2010 Alexksej Iskos has been the co-founder and partner of Iskos-Berlin Design, and in 2018 he founded his own studio - Iskos Design. The work of Iskos is based on the premise of creating products that combine function and poetry. He appreciates design for what it communicates to us not just its practical purpose. Iskos wants his work to evoke memories and tell a story. There are various works by Alexksej Iskos included in the collections of The Design Museum Denmark, the State Art Council collection and the Icelandic Museum of Design.

"I often find that my design process is a peculiar combination of rational thinking and intuition. When logic doesn’t suffice, intuition lends a hand and when intuition falters, logic sets in" - Alexksej Iskos
