Aleksej Iskos is a Ukrainian designer, born in 1965 in Kharkov. He studied architecture at Kharkov’s Institute of Civil Engineering and later theory of education at the State Institute of Pedagogic and moved to Denmark in 1991. Iskos also graduated from the Institute of Industrial Design at Denmark’s Designskole and the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Design. From 1999 to 2010, he was employed at Komplot Design, Copenhagen.
Since 2010, Aleksej Iskos has been the co-founder and partner of Iskos-Berlin Design, and in 2018, he founded his own studio, Iskos Design. The work of Iskos is based on the premise of creating products that combine function and poetry. He appreciates design for what it communicates to us, not just its practical purpose. Iskos wants his work to evoke memories and tell a story. There are various works by Aleksej Iskos included in the collections of The Design Museum Denmark, the State Art Council collection and the Icelandic Museum of Design.
