Copper Rose Limited Edition PH Artichoke by Louis Poulsen

The PH Artichoke is design classic by Poul Henningsen in 1958.

In honour of the 125th anniversary year of the birth of Poul Henningsen, Louis Poulsen have launched a limited edition of his iconic PH Artichoke suspension light.

This limited edition is only available for 2019. It shares the same copper rose finish of original version which was designed for the ‘Langelinie Pavillonen’ restaurant in Copenhagen.

Unlike the modern version, the inside of the leaves of the original Artichoke were a copper rose colour, providing a warm light - a feature which was requested by the ‘Langelinie Pavillonen’ restaurant. The limited edition Copper Rose Artichoke also shares this original feature. One of the 72 leaves of this collector's item is also etched with a PH signature.

The structure is made of 12 steel arches, where 72 "leaves" in 12 circular rows are placed, with 6 blades in each row. Because each row is staggered from the previous, all 72 "leaves" are able to "cover for each other"; therefore, the pendant provides a glare free diffused light.
