Product Description

Islet by Artemide


Mikko Laakkonen, the designer, was inspired by the air vents found at New York's subway. His idea was to design a light that would bring together manufacturing technology and an emotional pattern. Commenting on the Islet wall light, Mikko added "the result is a wall light where you can see a minimal landscape, with distant islets reflected on a water surface".

Islet has a minimal design with a poetic provocation. The metal sheet surface comes into motion, with the light escaping through all the slits and openings at the front. The result is playful game of light and reflection, through the slits. The light source is further protected with an opal glass, at the top and bottom, to emit any glare and enhance the diffused light.
