New additions to the Orsjo Streck family
At David Village Lighting we love families of lights and we are excited to share that Swedish based design company, Orsjo have expanded their popular Streck family to now include pendant and wall versions. The new additions join the family which already include a table and floor version.
We think the family looks great when used together and helps to create a theme in any room. The floor version is one of our favourites and is great for beside a sofa for reading.
The sleek and elegant Streck design combines powder coated metal components with brushed brass joints. The collection features a warm glowing light both beautiful and environmentally friendly.
“Part of the way I work is very involved in how we look at things – as if we are always on a visit to a museum. Streck is the result of this – the essence of a particular type of fitting I have always loved. With just a few, very carefully selected lines, the Streck family has been given a long life.”
Designer of Streck Joel Karlsson

Product Focus – Örsjö Belysning Baklava
The Baklava collection was first unveiled in 2011 as part of Claesson Koivisto Rune’s commission to design the highly renowned Nobis Hotel on Norrmalmstorg, Stockholm.
The families name is a nod to the Turkish pastry baked in different layers which is reflected in the shades design.
The aim was to create a lamp with a soft glare and a smooth character. The shade is crafted from multiple textile layers which are draped and tied together at the top and bottom. There is a red plexiglass disc placed under the light source which emits a soft, reddish-pink glow at the bottom when lit. When off the fabric is white.
The wide range of sizes and models enables a selection of inspiring group arrangements.
“Designing a lamp isn’t so difficult, but coming up with something new which stands out from the crowd is another matter entirely.”
“We wanted to create a more unconventional lamp for Hotel Nobis, so we started experimenting, before eventually deciding on the shade wrapped in fabric and the tied cords. The red filter makes the light even softer.”
Eero Koivisto
